Fact is, tradesmen or builders may be good at their own areas, when they installing timber floor, chances are you may end up with a bit of disappointment: sub-floor not properly prepared before installation, floor boards pop up or making noisy after a few month of use, job finished very roughly. In many cases owner DIY would do a much better job than subcontract tradesmen in timber flooring installation.
