What makes these ranges different?
Our Preference Vinyl range consists of two Ultimo glue-down products sharing similar long-plank timber-look designs but different constructions. The manufacturer lists 2.5mm total with 0.3mm wear layer for general residential use, and 4.5mm total with 0.5mm wear layer for residential, multi-residential and light commercial applications. These are dry-substrate, hard-set adhesive vinyl planks—not floating Hybrid click floors.

OUR RECOMMENDATIONS
For standard residential use where floor height matters, Ultimo 2.5/0.3mm is the thinner option. For a thicker wear layer and supplier-listed multi-residential/light commercial applications, Ultimo 4.5/0.5mm deserves priority. Both require approved hard-set vinyl adhesive; moisture exposure and subfloor preparation can be more important than the thickness difference.
BEST FOR
Ultimo 2.5mm: general residential glue-down floors with 0.3mm wear layer. Ultimo 4.5mm: residential and suitable multi-residential or light commercial use with a 0.5mm wear layer.

The details that matter.
Warranty, moisture and everyday use
The supplier specifies hard-set flooring adhesive for warranty compliance; neither version is a floating click floor. The plank dimensions vary by decor: 1524mm length with 184mm width for Australian timber designs, or approximately 228–229mm width for Oak depending on the supplier document's rounding: its overview/brochure use 228mm while several individual colour pages list 229mm. We retain the Shopify variant's 228mm nominal label and the product-size metafield's 229mm rounded listing until the distributor confirms a single nominal dimension, rather than silently treating them as different SKUs. Water resistance does not mean the adhesive/substrate or the wet-area building system is waterproof. The manufacturer limits underfloor heating to in-slab hydronic systems. Check the supplier's latest warranty for exclusions rather than assuming 'lifetime' means unlimited wear coverage.
Before installation
Moisture-test the slab and confirm levelling, correct primer/adhesive and preparation for a glue-down resilient floor. Review wet-area approvals before using it in bathrooms or laundries. Protect against elevated slab moisture, heat exposure and indentation from heavy objects. Confirm preferred colour and plank width before quoting.
