Project Summary
This new-build home in NSW Ocean Shores required one consistent timber floor across two levels with different subfloor construction. Riverhill Floors Australian Classic 14/3mm engineered timber in Spotted Gum was selected for the project, with the installation approach adapted separately for the upstairs particleboard and downstairs concrete slab.

The Goal
Create one consistent Spotted Gum timber floor across both levels of the new-build home, while using an installation approach suitable for the different subfloors upstairs and downstairs.
The Flooring Choice
Riverhill Floors Australian Classic 14/3mm engineered timber in Spotted Gum was selected to provide a consistent Australian timber appearance throughout the home. Using the same flooring across both levels created a seamless look despite the different construction underneath.
Our Approach
Because the two levels had different subfloors, the installation system was selected separately for each area. The upstairs particleboard and downstairs concrete slab were treated according to their individual requirements, allowing the same engineered timber flooring to be installed consistently throughout the home.
The Outcome
The completed installation achieved the consistent Spotted Gum look the homeowners wanted across both levels, while accommodating the different subfloor conditions beneath each area.
