The situation
This Calamvale house was one of our previous flooring projects. After installation, sections of the original hybrid flooring developed moisture-related damage.
The original installation had been completed according to the product guidance available at the time, which allowed installation without an additional plastic moisture barrier.
The warranty solution
Following the issue, the affected flooring was replaced under the supplier's product warranty. The replacement product provides improved water resistance compared with the earlier product.
For the replacement installation, we also installed a plastic moisture barrier beneath the new hybrid flooring to provide additional protection.
Our work included:
- Removing the affected existing hybrid flooring
- Preparing and cleaning the existing subfloor
- Installing a plastic moisture barrier
- Installing the replacement hybrid flooring
- Completing and checking the finished areas
The result
The house received a complete replacement floor with additional moisture protection incorporated into the new installation. The finished flooring restored a clean, consistent appearance throughout the living areas, and the customer was happy with both the completed floor and the way the warranty work was handled.
